Delivery & Sample Collection Policy

This policy explains how your test kit is delivered, how your sample is collected, and how long results take, depending on which Genetix test you order.
1. How collection works, by test type
Genetix offers two collection methods, depending on the test:
Home collection kit (saliva or stool sample) Applies to: Microbiome, Nutrigenomics
- We courier a collection kit to your address
- The kit includes everything you need, with simple instructions for self-collection at home
- Once you’ve collected your sample, let us know it’s ready and we’ll arrange a courier to collect it from you
Phlebotomist visit (blood sample) Applies to: PGx Live, PGx Standard, Whole Genome Sequencing, Familial Mutation (where blood is required)
- No kit is shipped to you. Instead, we arrange a registered phlebotomist to draw your sample at a time and location convenient to you
- Your sample is then transported directly to our laboratory by the phlebotomist or an accredited courier
2. Delivery area
We currently deliver test kits and arrange phlebotomy within South Africa only.
3. Delivery timeframes
- Home collection kits: dispatched within 5 business days of order confirmation, via our courier partner
- Phlebotomist visits: scheduled within 5 business days of order confirmation, subject to availability in your area.
4. Delivery costs
Courier delivery and sample collection are included in the price of your test. We cover these costs, so nothing extra is added to your order.
5. Tracking your kit
We monitor the progress of your kit and sample collection using our courier partner’s tracking system internally. We don’t currently provide patients with a separate tracking number or self-service tracking link.

6. Returning your sample
Once you’ve collected your sample at home, contact us at info@genetixtests.co.za and we’ll arrange for a courier to collect it from your address.
Please keep your sample stored as instructed in the kit until it’s collected. Delays between collection and courier pickup can affect sample integrity and may require a repeat collection, so let us know as soon as your sample is ready.
7. If something goes wrong
If your kit does not arrive, arrives damaged, or your sample is lost or damaged in transit, contact us immediately at info@genetixtests.co.za so we can arrange a replacement kit or repeat collection at no additional cost to you.
8. Results turnaround
Once your sample reaches our laboratory, results are typically available within the timeframe stated on your specific test’s product page. Turnaround times vary by test due to differences in laboratory processing. Please refer to the individual test page for the most current estimate.
