Welcome to Genetix Tests. These Terms and Conditions govern your use of our website, located at genetixtests.co.za, and your purchase of any test or service from us. By using our website or ordering a test, you agree to these Terms.
1. About us
Genetix is a precision genetic testing company based in South Africa, registered as Genetix (Pty) Ltd, registration number 2021/797913/07, with a registered address at Office Suite 2, 108 Albert Rd 5th Floor, Woodstock, Cape Town, South Africa, 7925.
2. Our services
Genetix offers pharmacogenomic, microbiome, nutrigenomic, cancer genetic, and whole genome testing services, intended for use by patients and healthcare providers. Our tests are diagnostic and informational tools, and are not a substitute for professional medical advice. Results should be interpreted in consultation with a licensed clinician.
3. Orders and payment
When you order a test, you are entering into a contract with Genetix. All prices are displayed in South African Rand (ZAR) and are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payment is processed securely through our payment gateway partner. We do not store your card details; all online payments are tokenised and handled through our payment gateway provider’s PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant systems.
4. Sample collection and delivery
Depending on the test you order, your sample will be collected either via a home collection kit or a phlebotomist visit. Full details are set out in our Delivery and Sample Collection Policy.
5. Cancellations and refunds
Our cancellation and refund terms are set out in our Refund and Return Policy.
6. Accuracy of results
We take every reasonable measure to ensure the accuracy of our testing and reporting processes, in line with internationally recognised laboratory and clinical guidelines. However, genetic and microbiome testing has inherent scientific and biological limitations, and no test can guarantee complete accuracy or predict all possible health outcomes. Results are intended to support, not replace, clinical judgement.
7. Your information
Our collection and use of your personal and genetic information is governed by our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual property
All content on this website, including text, graphics, logos, reports, and software, is the property of Genetix or its licensors, and is protected by South African and international copyright law. You may not copy, reproduce, or distribute any content from this site without our written permission.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Genetix is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of our website or services, except where such liability cannot be excluded by South African law, including in cases of gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
10. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of our website or services after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of our services will be subject to the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
